Our Statement of Principles
We, the South West Georgia Young Republicans, affirm our unwavering belief in God and our commitment to the self-evident truths declared by our Founding Fathers: that all men and women are created in the image of God and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Across the world, people look to America as the last great beacon of freedom and we take that responsibility seriously. We are the generation tasked with preserving what was fought for, prayed over, and passed down: the blessings of liberty, the strength of family, and the right to
build a future rooted in faith and freedom.
As Young Republicans in South Georgia, we honor the traditions that shaped this region: hard work, Southern hospitality, faith in God, love of country, and fierce independence.
We believe that by engaging locally, we can shape our county, our state, and our nation for generations to come.
The U.S. Constitution is not a flexible suggestion.
It is a binding contract and enduring promise between our government and its people.
Limited government, personal freedom and responsibility
are not just ideals.
They’re the foundation of a free society.
Life begins at conception,
and must be protected from the womb to natural death.
Religious liberty and freedom of speech
are God-given rights, not privileges granted by man.
The Second Amendment secures our right to self-defense,
to protect our homes, our families, and our freedom.
The Nuclear family,
with both mothers and fathers,
is the bedrock of a strong and moral society.
Economic freedom and free-market capitalism
are the engines of innovation and personal opportunity:
not government subsidies or bloated bureaucracies.
The national debt must be reduced,
and government should operate within its means.
Parents have the right parent their children,
to guide their children’s education and medical care,
without federal overreach or forced agendas.
Secure borders and lawful immigration
are essential to maintaining our national identity and sovereignty;
A strong national defense is essential to maintaining peace,
and our veterans deserve every promise kept
for their service and sacrifice;
Israel has the right to exist, defend its sovereignty,
and maintain Jerusalem as its eternal and undivided capital;
Our rights come from God, not government;
We will never bow to international bodies that attempt to supersede
the will of the American people
The American Dream is the greatest hope
It is our time to lead,
not later, not someday, but right now.
These ideals find their clearest champion through
the Republican Party.
